about my summer so far.

It has been a pretty fun summer so far and I have alot of plans left to do. I am going to go to key west and Sarasota in a couple of weeks. I will post again when I am in key west!

I liked the blog better than the home reading sheets because I can read and see other people's blogs. It's also cool because I can actually do my homework on the computer. I can go on any time and view my blog or any of my friends blogs. I like that I can see our classroom videos too. I also like the fact that I have to type a secret pasword to get on blogger.


The reasons I don't like the blog are because I'm not a great typer yet so it takes me a long time to finish. I also don't like that I have to type 2 paragraphs each week. Sometimes it is hard to put in alot of dialouge. I also think that it is easier to just write on sheets of paper. Finally, the blog has things I like and things I don't like but I'm glad we did it.

I am reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling. In this chapter I predict that Harry will not get to his classes because there are alot of people surrounding him from his dorm because he's famous and they all want to see him. I also think Harry and Ron will like there school house and classes.

I had a few questions while I was reading. The first question I have is who is Peeves? He is a ghost that pours water on peoples heads and he is basicly a trouble maker. The second question I have is how many staircases are there at Hogwarts ? There are 142 staircases in Hogwarts. That's alot and some of them move. I also got stuck on the word poltergeist and learned it means ghost.

I am still reading Harry Potter and the Socerers Stone. It is a really good book. I think that Hermione and Harry are going to be friends. I am wondering if they will be on the same Quidditch team at Hogwarts.

While I was reading the question I had was what are Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Gryffindor and Hufflepuff? I learned that these are the names of the school houses and that each person gets put into a different house. I wonder why?
The other question I had was why is everyone so interested in Quidditch? It's because Quidditch is the main sport played in the wizarding world and everyone likes it.

The word I needed help on was nearly. I learned that it means almost.

Awesome Harry Potter book

I am still reading Harry Potter and the Socerers Stone. I think Harry is going to get his wand and find out which House he will be in at Hogwarts. I am also wondering if he will like it and how soon he will start school.

My first question is what type of wand will Harry get? Mr. Ollivander who is the wand maker tells Harry that he needs a 13 and a half inch holly and pheonix feather. Harry tries a lot of wands before his wand chooses him. My second question is how do wand makers make wands? Wand makers can use unicorn hairs, pheonix tail feathers, dragon heartstrings and all types of wood. Some wands are long and some are short. Some are springy and some are stiff.

I got stuck on the word Galleons. Galleons are one type of wizard money. There are also sickles and knuts. My mom gave me the answer because she has read all of the Harry Potter books.

I am still reading Harry Potter and the Socerers Stone. It's a great story. I think that Harry is going to ask what Quidditch is and how to play it. I also think that he is also going to buy all of his books, robes and a wand with Hagrid. He might even play Quidditch and love the game.

While I was reading, I had a few questions. The first question I had was, Who is Griphook? Griphook is a goblin. He works at the wizarding bank and is a guard over the vaults. The vaults have gold, silver, money and jewels in them. My other question was what is Diagon Alley? I learned that Diagon Alley is a street where all the wizards go to buy things.

I was confused with the word savage. I learned that it means wild or uncivilizied.

I am reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I predict that Harry and Hagrid are going to track down who killed Harry's mom and dad. I think this because Hagrid told Harry that his mom and dad were killed by a bad wizard.

I had a few questions while I was reading. The first question I have is why will Harry be famous at Hogwarts ? I believe the answer will be because then he will get to show off your powers. The seconed question I have is why is Hagrids wand hidden in the pink umbrella? The reason is because Hagrid isn't allowed to use magic, so he hid his wand in the umbrella.

I didn't understand the word puncture. My mom told me that is means to put a hole into something.

I am reading Junie B. Jones and that meanie Jim's birthday. I predict Junie B. is going to think about her party and announce it in class. She probably wants Jim to get mad about her party. I think this because in the last chapter she was sending out invitations to every one in room nine.


While I was reading I had a few questions. The first question I had is why does she want to be twins with Lucille? The answer is that Junie B. doesn't want Lucille to go to Jim's party either. Since Junie B. didn't get invited and she thinks Lucille shouldn't go since they are twins now and twins do everything the same. The second question I had is why did Junie B. turn around Jim's head with her hand? I learned that he was laughing at her because she got in trouble so she got mad. I got stuck on the word ceremonies. It means to celebrate something.

I am still reading Junie B. Jones and that Meanie Jim's Birthday. In this chapter I think Junie B. is going to hand out invitations to her birthday party because her Grandma and Grandpa said that she could have a party of her own. Plus Junie doesn't want anyone to go to Jim's birthday. The only problem is that she has to have it on her actual birth day and that is a week after Jim's birthday. So she is not sure how she will be able to get the other kids not to go to Jim's party and only come to hers.


The first question I had was why is a kid in room nine named Cry Baby William? I found out that it is because he is afraid of everything even a tiny flea. The second question is why did Junie B. take the invitation away from Cry Baby? After reading I learned that this was because she wanted to go to Jim's party but didn't get an invitation so she took Cry Baby's from him. The word I got stuck on in the story was tattletale. I found out that it means a person who tells on everyone.

I am reading Junie B. Jones and that Meanie Jim's Birthday by Barbara Parks. The chapter I am on is called Moving. I think this means that Junie B. may be moving away. I am wondering where she may be moving since it is the middle of the school year.

The questions I had while I was reading are: Where is Junie B. planning to move? and Why does Junie B want to stay on the It's a small world ride? Junie B. isn't actually planning to move at all, she just wishes she could move to Disney world to get away from Jim. She doesn't like Jim because he didn't invite her to his birthday party. The answer to the second question is that Junie B. loves the It's a small world ride so much that she never wants to get off of it.

As I was reading I ran into the word reaction and didn't know what it meant. I looked the word up in my dictionary and discovered that means to respond directly.

I am reading Junie B. Jones and that Meanie Jim's Birthday by Barbara Park. I believe Junie B. is going to pout and be upset because she was not invited to Jim's birthday. I wonder if Junie B is going to stay in bed and not go to school because of the party.

I had a few questions while I was reading. The first question I had was why didn't Junie B. want her little brother Ollie to live with her? The answer is because she feels like she doesn't get enough attention and also her brother Ollie cries all the time. The second question I had was why does she want the whole class to eat Jim for lunch? The answer was because she hates him and she does not want him in her life! While I was reading I got stuck with the word ruffled. It means to mess something up.

I am reading Junie B. Jones and that Meanie Jim's Birthday by Barbara Park. I think this chapter is going to be about Junie B. bothering Jim because she wants to go to the party so badly. I think this because the title of the chapter is called Tapping on That Jim's Head. I wonder why Jim doesn't like Junie B.

While I was reading I had a few questions. The first question I had was why doesn't Junie B. like clowns? I found out that she does not like clowns because she thinks they are not normal people. The seconed question I had was why is Jim going to have farm animals at his party? He is going to have farm animals because his party is called Old Macdonald's Farm and he likes animals. I also had troble with the word meanwhile. I looked in a dictionary to see what it means. I discoverd that it meant at the same time.
